“A self-aware person, a responsible society, a strong Armenia”

Preamble

Armenia stands before a historic choice. The challenges we face are not only military, economic or political. They are first and foremost challenges of values, education and civilisation.

The strength of a state begins not with the government but with the individual — the ordinary citizen. If a citizen who is part of society does not know themselves, has no awareness of their identity and does not recognise their responsibility to society and the homeland, they cannot build a strong society and a powerful state.

The goal of the Inqnachanachum movement is to shape a new political culture in Armenia, a new individual with independent analytical thinking, and a responsible society.

This is not a party: the Inqnachanachum movement is open to party members as well. The movement works in three directions: • a pan-Armenian platform of consensus around national goals, where Armenians of the Diaspora and of Armenia unite around those goals; • the platform puts forward its own political agenda and candidates, or supports other candidates in local or national elections; • the movement pursues a just resolution of the Armenian Cause and of human-rights issues in international bodies.

Principles of the movement

• Truth and justice are the cornerstone of the Christian value system and of social solidarity, and they are never negotiable under any circumstances. • The primacy of the institution of accountability is the most important component of public governance. • National identity is the immune system of the nation and the people; its development is one of the primary functions of the state. • Education is the primary driving force of a state's strength and prosperity. • Science is the most important component nourishing every sector. • Human freedom and the protection of rights are the inseparable foundations of state stability and democracy. • Statesmanship replaces political preference: the interest of the state comes first.

Closing declaration

We believe that Armenia's revival begins within every person. A self-aware person builds healthy, constructive relationships in their surroundings and family. Healthy, harmonious environments and families create a harmonious society. A harmonious society builds a just and strong state.

We are convinced that the country's future does not depend only on the government or the opposition. It depends on the awareness, honesty, diligence and sense of responsibility of every citizen.

We call for unity not around individuals but around values and ideas. Our goal is a strong, social state in which the human being is the highest value and their rights and freedoms come first.

We choose: • truth instead of falsehood; • creative work instead of idleness; • responsibility instead of indifference; • knowledge instead of ignorance; • cooperation instead of division; • statesmanship instead of political convenience.

The movement's main motto

“A self-aware person, a responsible society, a strong Armenia”
